にぼしスナック Crispy Deep-fried Niboshi, Dried Sardines



おやつにときどき煮干し。
旅先の漁村で手に入る、新鮮な煮干しは格別ですね。
そのままで食べるには、かたくなりすぎた煮干しも、豆乳で溶いた米粉で、カリカリにあげると大人気です。

Niboshi, dried Sardines, is especially popular as the base stock in Japan. It used to be one of the easy, plain, good and common snacks for kids because it used to be always stocked at home, it’s easy to pass to kids and it’s full of calcium, eaten as a whole including bones. When niboshi gets too dried and too hard, you can coat it in batter and deep fry it. My kids love it.
